Q. Who is a defaulter?

A:National Service Scheme gives the opportunity for past students who could not do their service in the year they completed to register and join the current service year. This also serves as an opportunity for persons who are 18 years and studied outside the country to join the current service year. People who fall within this category are called defaulters.

A defaulter may or may not have a pin code depending on whether the university submitted their details.

Q.How do I apply for a pin code as a defaulter?

A. For a defaulter without a pin code,

Kindly visit the headquarters or regional office with the following documents:

  • A letter requesting for a pin code

  • Certified true copy of school certificate or transcript plus introductory letter from institution attended

  • A valid national ID card

  • School ID.

For a defaulter with an expired pin code, kindly create a ticket with your index number and a valid national ID for pin code reactivation.
